GTA 6 comes out on Thursday 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the UK, the PlayStation Store listing points to midnight, 00:00 GMT on Thursday 19 November. Rockstar hasn't confirmed regional unlock times, so treat that time as inferred from the store listing. If it holds and you've preloaded, you can start playing the second Wednesday night turns into Thursday.

What time does GTA 6 unlock in the UK?
The UK PlayStation Store page shows the release as 19/11/2026 12:00 AM UTC. UK clocks went back on 25 October, so in November UK time is GMT, the same as UTC. That makes it 00:00 on Thursday 19 November, inferred from the store listing rather than confirmed by Rockstar.
A couple of things to know:
- It looks like midnight local time, not one worldwide moment. Store listings and reports (such as NME's) point to each region unlocking at its own midnight, which would put players in New Zealand and Australia several hours ahead of us. Rockstar hasn't confirmed this.
- Your account region decides your unlock, not where you're sitting. A UK PlayStation or Xbox account follows the UK store.
- Xbox: the Xbox UK page confirms 19 November 2026, but we haven't seen an exact Xbox unlock time published. Not yet confirmed
- Rockstar's official schedule: Not yet confirmed If it's published, we'll update this page.
When can I preload GTA 6?
Preloading opens at local midnight on Thursday 12 November 2026, a week before launch. That covers digital pre-orders and boxed copies once you've redeemed the code inside. The full PS5 and Xbox steps are in our GTA 6 preload guide.
You'll still need to wait for the 19 November unlock to play. Preloading gets the download out of the way, but it doesn't give you early access.
Which consoles is GTA 6 on?
- PlayStation 5, with a PS5 Pro Enhanced version (Sony hasn't said what the enhancements are yet; see our storage and PS5 Pro page)
- Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S
It won't run on PS4 or Xbox One. There's no PC version announced, and Xbox has said the game won't stream to PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming. A Switch 2 version hasn't been announced either.
