GTA 6: everything we know

Last updated: 25 October 2026. We update this page every week and whenever Rockstar announces something new.

GTA 6 launches on Thursday 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with preloading from 12 November. It's a single-player story set in Vice City and across the state of Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida. You play as Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. In the UK it costs £69.99 for Standard and £89.99 for Ultimate. There's still no PC version announced.

This page sticks to what Rockstar and the platform holders have confirmed. There are no leaks and no story spoilers, and rumours are clearly labelled as rumours.

GTA 6 at a glance

The story (no spoilers)

This is Rockstar's official synopsis:

"Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

That's all we'll say about the plot. Once the game is out, every story guide on Six Star Intel will carry a clear spoiler warning.

How long is it? Rockstar North's Rob Nelson said his recent playthrough took around 80 hours. That covered the main story and some optional goals.

GTA 6 characters

Rockstar has officially introduced eight characters (or duos):

• Jason Duval (protagonist). Grew up around grifters and crooks, did a stint in the Army, and ended up in the Keys working for local drug runners.
• Lucia Caminos (protagonist). Her father taught her to fight. She's fresh out of Leonida Penitentiary and determined to make only smart moves from here.
• Cal Hampton. Jason's friend, a conspiracy-minded homebody who listens in on Coast Guard radio.
• Boobie Ike. A Vice City legend whose empire covers real estate, a strip club and a recording studio.
• Dre'Quan Priest. An aspiring music mogul and Boobie's partner in Only Raw Records.
• Real Dimez (Bae-Luxe and Roxy). A rap duo who have been friends since high school.
• Raul Bautista. A seasoned bank robber who's always looking for new talent.
• Brian Heder. A Leonida Keys figure linked to Jason and Cal.

No voice cast has been officially announced.

The map: Vice City and Leonida

Leonida is Rockstar's Florida-inspired state. Rob Nelson has said the map is about twice the size of GTA 5's and three times Red Dead Redemption 2's. Rockstar has shown six areas so far:

Rockstar may reveal more areas at or after launch. Our interactive map goes live after launch, built from our own playthrough.
