GTA 6 Standard vs Ultimate Edition: UK prices and what's included

GTA 6 costs £69.99 for the Standard Edition and £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the UK. Both have exactly the same full game. The extra £20 gets you the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, which is a set of bonus cars, weapons, outfits, side activities and shops. Buy either edition before 20 November 2026 and you also get the Vintage Vice City Pack.

What's in the GTA 6 Standard Edition?

• Grand Theft Auto VI, the full game

What's in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?

You get the full game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar says these bonuses are "threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter", so you unlock them as you play rather than all at once.

Vehicles

• '95 Grotti Cheetah, a mid-'90s sports car
• Jason's safehouse vehicles: a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest kayak
• Ganado retro build, with exclusive mods for Jason's Vapid Ganado pickup
• Shitzu Squalo boat, docked at Washington Beach
• '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, plus the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay
• Classic Car Collection, a side activity restoring abandoned classics for a collector called Wyman

Weapons

• Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers ("his and hers")

What's the Vintage Vice City Pack?

This is the bonus for any pre-order or purchase made before 20 November 2026 (Rockstar Support and Take-Two's wording). The PlayStation and Xbox store small print puts the cut-off at 23:59:59 on 19 November, so to be safe, buy by the end of 19 November. It's the same in both editions:

• '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, plus the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach
• Outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia
• An exclusive weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt

Like the Ultimate items, these become available as the story progresses.

The free month of GTA+

Digital pre-orders and purchases of the Standard or Ultimate Edition made before 20 November 2026 (by 19 November in the store small print) come with one month of GTA+. Buying the Ultimate Edition Upgrade on its own doesn't count. On PlayStation:

• You claim it from the GTA+ product page after you've pre-ordered
• You have to claim it by 31 March 2027
• It rolls into a paid monthly subscription unless you cancel, so set a reminder
• You can only claim it once per account

On Xbox, the GTA+ month has to be redeemed within 180 days. Rockstar lists GTA+ under digital purchases only, so boxed copies don't include it.

Boxed vs digital: which is better in the UK?

• Boxed (Standard only): it's a download code, not a disc. It's due in shops from 12 November so you can still preload. The appeal is that retailers sometimes discount it. A UK PlayStation code only works on a UK PlayStation account. Xbox codes aren't region-locked.
• Digital: this is the only way to get Ultimate and the free month of GTA+, and you can preload from midnight on 12 November without waiting for a delivery.
• Already bought Standard? You can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately at any time. Boxed owners can do this once they've redeemed their code. The upgrade's UK price is not yet confirmed here, so check the PlayStation or Microsoft store.

Which GTA 6 edition should you buy?

• Most people: Standard. It's the same game and the same story, and the pre-order bonus is identical.
• Ultimate is worth it if you love cars, customisation and side activities and want five extra shops from day one. It also makes sense if you already know you'll buy the upgrade later anyway.
• Not sure? Buy Standard now. You can upgrade later, but you can't downgrade.
