GTA 6 costs £69.99 for the Standard Edition and £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition on both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. UK retailers sell boxed copies too, sometimes for a few pounds less, but there's no disc: the box contains a download code. Whichever you choose, pre-ordering before 20 November gets you the Vintage Vice City Pack. Correct as of 24 October 2026.

The quick answer
- Simplest: buy digitally from the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store at £69.99. Digital pre-orders can preload from 12 November and also get a free month of GTA+
- Cheapest: a boxed copy from a big UK retailer is sometimes a little cheaper. It's still a download code, it's Standard Edition only, and it doesn't include the free month of GTA+
- Ultimate Edition: £89.99, or £20 more for extra in-game content. It's digital only: there's no boxed Ultimate, but boxed Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade from the PlayStation or Microsoft store after redeeming their code. See Standard vs Ultimate before you pay extra

We don't list retailer prices on this page because they change daily, sometimes hourly. Check each retailer's own listing before you buy.
Boxed vs digital: what's the difference?
| Digital (PS Store / Xbox Store) | Boxed (retailer) | |
|---|---|---|
| Disc in the box | n/a | No. It's a download code |
| Download needed | Yes, the full game | Yes, the full game |
| Preload from 12 Nov | Yes (digital pre-orders) | Yes, once you've redeemed the code. Boxed copies are due from 12 Nov |
| Price | £69.99 / £89.99 | Sometimes a few pounds less (Standard only) |
| Free month of GTA+ | Yes (digital pre-orders) | No |
| Can you resell it later? | No | Not once you've redeemed the code |
Because there's no disc, a boxed copy doesn't save you download space or give you a resale value, which are the usual reasons to buy physical. The only real advantage is price, if a retailer is undercutting the store by more than the value of the GTA+ month you'd miss.
Where to buy in the UK
These retailers are taking pre-orders for the boxed (code-in-box) Standard Edition, according to their own listings and recent UK coverage:
- PlayStation Store and Xbox Store (digital)
- Amazon UK
- Argos
- Currys
- GAME
Buying digitally? Go straight to the official listings: PlayStation Store or Xbox Store.
How to pay less (safely)
- Compare the boxed price with £69.99. If a big retailer is cheaper, it's the same game, just delivered as a code
- Look at trade-ins. Some UK retailers offer credit for old games and consoles
- Avoid "cheap key" sites and marketplace sellers you don't know. Codes from unofficial resellers can be revoked, and there's no PC version, so any "GTA 6 PC key" is a scam
- Don't hold out for a big discount. There's no sign of an official price cut, and the Vintage Vice City Pack is only included with purchases before 20 November
Is there a GTA 6 bundle?
No official console bundle has been announced as of 24 October 2026. Sony has announced GTA VI Limited Edition DualSense controllers, sold separately. Retailers may put together their own "bundles" (a console plus the game). Check the total against buying the two separately.
Frequently asked questions
How much is GTA 6 in the UK?
£69.99 for the Standard Edition and £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store. Retailers sometimes sell the boxed version for a little less.
Is GTA 6 cheaper boxed or digital?
Boxed copies are sometimes a few pounds cheaper at retailers, but there's no disc: the box contains a download code, so you still download the whole game. Boxed copies only come as the Standard Edition, and digital pre-orders get a month of GTA+ that boxed copies don't.
Can I preload a boxed copy?
Yes, once you've redeemed the code. Rockstar says boxed copies are due from retailers from 12 November to support preloading, and codes redeemed before launch preload from 12 November. If yours arrives later, you can't start downloading until you've redeemed it.
Do all copies get the pre-order bonus?
Yes. Pre-orders and purchases before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, digital or boxed. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+, with conditions; boxed copies don't.
Is there a GTA 6 console bundle?
No official console bundle has been announced.
Can I trade in for GTA 6?
Some UK retailers run trade-in deals. Check what you'd get for old games or consoles. It can bring the price down more than a discount.
